ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter was launched in 2002. The chapter has the credit of bringing out the first newsletter and creating a blog of its own. Nowadays the core members of the chapter are organising workshop on various topics of English for the benefit of the teachers and students. Our motto is "Reach the Students rather than Teach the Students."

Association of India)
The
largest Network of Teachers of English in India (An Associate of IATEFL, UK )
The English Language Teachers' Association of India (ELTAI) was founded on August 7,1974 by the late Padmashri S. Natarajan, a noted Educationist.
We bring out "The Journal of English Language Teaching", a bi-monthly, and it is given free to all the members of the Association. Our consultancy services offer Teacher training packages and organize bi-monthly meetings on current ELT themes relevant to the Indian context.
We host annual conferences and regional conferences on specific areas relevant to the ELT scenario today. Delegates from all over the country as well as the world outside participate in them, present papers and conduct workshops.

OUR FOUNDER:
He was one of the founders of the South Indian Teachers' Union and later became its President. He also served for a term as a member of the Madras Legislative Council. He started a number of organizations for the welfare of teachers and worked ceaselessly for their professional development.
He founded, apart from ELTAI, the /Association of mathematics Teachers, Association os Science Teachers' Association of Geography Teachers and the SITU Council of Educational Research and Society for the Promotion of Education in India

To provide a forum
for teachers of English to meet periodically and discuss problems relating to the
teaching of English in India.
To help teachers
interact with educational administrators on matters relating to the teaching of
English.
To disseminates information in the ELT field among teachers of English.
To undertake innovative projects aimed at the improvement of learners' proficiency in English.
To promote professional solidarity among teachers of English at primary, secondary and university levels.

OUR VISION:
ELTAI envisions to make India

ELT@I Bilaspur Chapter organised "Felicitation Ceremony" on 26th Feb. 2012 in Bachpan Play School, Mangala Chowk, Bilaspur at 4.30 pm to felicitate Dr. Aradhana Trivedi, Dr. Devasree Chakravarti and Dr. Arti Singh Thakur who were conferred with Ph.D. Degree in English Literature by Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur (C.G.). The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr. (Brig) A.K. Sharma, Chief Operations Officer, Apollo Hospitals, Bilaspur, the Guest of Honour was Dr. Gulshan Das, Retd. Professor of English and the session was chaired by Prof. C.B.S. Chowhan. The Special Guests on the occasion were the three Ph.Dians. ELT@I is honoured to felicitate them on their achievement.
Mr. Shivaji Kushwaha, President of ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter welcomed the gathering and congratulated the three ladies for their achievements. Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam informed what ELTAI is and asked the gathering to join hands with ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter to make Bilaspur the hub of English activities.
Dr. Gulshan Das praised ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter for conducting wonderful activities for the benefit of the students in specific and congratulated the three ladies for their hard work and efforts. She appreciated Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam, National Vice President of ELTAI for bringing many people together on the platform of ELTAI.
Dr.(Brig) A.K. Sharma, COO of Apollo Hospitals, Bilaspur congratulated ELTAI for organising an event of this magnitude. He appreciated the activities of ELTAI Bilaspur chapter and announced that he would love to be the member of ELTAI and would be always available for the activities of ELTAI. He said that it is the need of the hour to promote English activities in Bilaspur.
Prof. C.B.S. Chowhan chairing the session spoke about the condition and status of education in Chhattisgarh and urged the teachers to take active part in promoting English among the learners and students.
Dr. Aradhana Trivedi, Dr. Devasree Chakravarti and Dr. Arti Singh Thakur thanked ELTAI Biaspur Chapter for felicitating them and honouring them. They spoke about their topics and expressed their gratitude to those who helped them in their great achievement.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Dr. Pravin Kalvit, Mrs. Nirmala Jyothi, Mr. D.D. Sharan, Mr. G.N. Ananthan, Mrs. G.A. Neela, Mr. Ramaswamy, Mr. Milan Seth, Mrs. Shobha Seth, Mrs. Shrutika, Mr. Vikas Tyagi, Mr. Ashley Doughlus, Mr. G.A. Ashwini Kumar, Mrs. Vidhya, Shreya G. Iyengar and others were present on the occasion.
The programme was compered by Mrs. Usha Iyengar, Event Manager and Mrs. Sumita Goel, Joint Secretary of ELTAI, Bilaspur Chapter.
