A workshop on "How to get rid of the Fear of English" was organised at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Bartori, Block Belha, Dist. Bilaspur by ELT@I Bilaspur Chapter on 17th August 2013. 
This workshop was conducted with the great support of Mr. J.P. Kiran, Principal of the School, Mr. Sanadya, Senior member of the faulty, Mr. V. B.Sharma, the Lecturer of English and all the committed and devoted staff members.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Rakesh Dighraskar, Mrs. Usha Iyengar and Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam.
There were near about 350 students sitting in the verandah of the school on both the sides. It was just great to see them so energetic and patient to listen to the speakers. 
 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Mr. Manoj Sanadya introduced the speakers to the students and the first session was taken up by Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam who with the vedio and PPT made the students to understand the necessity of English and told them how to take out the fear of English from their hearts and minds.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 
 

 
 
 In the second session Mr. Rakesh Dighraskar in a beautiful way described the students how to make short and meaningful sentences. He has cited various examples and asked them to make short and small sentences to start with. He urged the students to take our hesitation from their heart and speak with confidence even if they commit mistakes.
 
 
 
 

 
 In  the third session Mrs. Usha Iyengar narrated a story of two boys who got failed in the exam and their own way of using English. She conducted a real workshop of spellings for the students and informed them about the rules and regulations of spellings.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 The students of the school were so good and patient that they couldn't stop themselves to express their feedback. Girls and boys came forward to express their heartfelt regards to the oranisers and the speakers.

Another workshop on "FOE: Why Don't You Go???" was organised  by ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter on 10th  July 2012 at Govt. Boys and Girls Hr. Sec. School, Masturi, Bilaspur. (C.G.).

The purpose of the workshop was to take out the fear in the minds and hearts of the students towards English Language. Our rural students are second to none in terms of knowledge and caliber. They lack the exposure, atmosphere and motivation. ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter is striving hard to reach the nook and corner of the area to create awareness among the learners towards English. 
The workshop was a mega success and students enjoyed every bit of it. It was conducted with the help of audio-visual aids and power point presentation. 
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Devasree Chakravarti, Treasurer, ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter,  Mr. Rakesh Dighraskar,  Secretary, ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter and Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam, National Vice President, ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter.
ELTAI is thankful to Dr. Rajkumar Sachdeva, Professor of Hindi at Govt. College, Masturi who was instrumental in organising the event.
We are highly thankful to Mr. Sanjay Dubey, Vice Principal of Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School for his enthusiastic support and help. We would like to thank Mrs. Singh, Mr. Raj, Mr. Anil Sahu, Mr. Chowdhary for their help in organising the event at Boys Hr. Sec. School, Masturi.

WORKSHOP AT CHAKARBHATA, BILASPUR

9th July 2012

WORKSHOP OF BRITISH COUNCIL

Organised at DPS, Bilaspur on 10th December 2011

































On 10th December 2011, A Workshop for Teachers of English was conducted by the British Council in collaboration with ELTAI Bilaspur Chapter at Delhi Public Shcool, Bilaspur (C.G.)
336 teachers of English were registered and 286 took part in this mega event. There were 10 parallel sessions and 8 resource persons were sponsored by the British Council and 2 resource persons were from the local chapter. The inaugural session started at 9.50 am. Ms. Daphne Pawlec from British Council, Mr. Salil Ray, Principal, DPS, Bilaspur, Mr. Singh, A.O., D.P.S., Bilaspur and Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam, Co-ordinator, ELTAI, Bilaspur Chapter spoke about the event. At the outset Captain Salil Ray welcomed the guests and participants and thanked the British Council for choosing DPS for the mega event. Ms. Daphne spoke about the modalities of the workshop and informed the participants about their roles and responsibilities. Dr. G.A. Ghanshyam informed the participants about ELTAI and its activities and urged the teachers to become the members of ELTAI.
The first session of workshop started at 10.20. Each workshop was of 50 min. duration. After the first session there was a tea break for 15 min. After the tea break there were two sessions followed by lunch break. After the lunch break two more sessions continued.
The certificates were distributed in the respective rooms by the resource persons.
It was a great and cherishing experience for all the teachers.
